The next morning, we heard about the San Diego county fires as we drove north toward home. It's sad to think about how that landscape has changed.

It's as if some other force, a greater hand, takes over and guides my inept digits. I'm not alone in this conviction, I know, since other artists have documented the experience, as well. In my mind, this lifts art from its mean environment to a glorious, spiritual level and I feel I have a small part in God's work.

I painted as my son and husband worked on the airplane my son is building at Linhart's airfield, a friendly place that takes you back to a better time.
