"Some Days Are Diamonds"

"Some Days Are Diamonds" - Oil - 24" x 30" - $1500

John Denver is one of my favorite songwriters and as this marvelous scene developed before my eyes, I remembered his lines, "Some days are diamonds. Some days are stone." The reference is to both the stunning beauty of the Pacific and to the fact that the painting went very well. Both are gifts.

Dear Susan

I enjoy your painting a day blog - you are made of sterner stuff than lazy me but I did see a remarkable similarity in treatment between your "Diamonds" seascape and my own "Breaking Wave" (www.artistwilson.com) -- not that either of us was influenced by the other, I know. We both painted the foam at the bottom of the wave with broad and bold strokes unbeknowns to each artist! ESP?

Your work gets stronger and stronger.
